Shabby Chic, tutti ne parlano ma non tutti sanno cos’è.

Cercherò, dunque, di raccontare, spiegare e definire questo stile d’arredamento che sta conquistando sempre più fan anche tra i personaggi famosi: lo stile shabby chic.

La parola shabby significa letteralmente usurato, invecchiato, logoro, la parola chic la conosciamo tutti!

Lo shabby dà al “vecchio” una seconda possibilità, riportando a nuova vita mobili che altrimenti non guarderemmo neppure.

Lo stile dei mobili che scegliamo di trasformare è molto importante nello stile shabby chic. I mobili da prediligere sono, come dicevo,quelli molto lavorati, con bugne, fregi e intarsi che allo stato naturale risultano pacchiani ma che una volta trasformati nei colori dello shabby chic diventano sublimi.

Io consiglio sempre di fare un giro nella cantina dei nonni o nel loro garage, si possono trovare cassettiere, comò, tavolini, cassepanche, sedie.. un infinità di oggetti di arredamento e mobili perfetti per la trasformazione Shabby.

Quelli meno adattabili sono i mobili lineari e moderni o meglio possiamo farlo ma non otterremo certo l’effetto finale che possiamo ottenere con i mobili con stondature, modanature, cimase e quant’altro. Se di base un mobile è molto lavorato a volte basta anche solo pitturarlo di bianco e poi abbinarlo a piccoli accessori come candele, gabbiette, cuoricini e tessuti di lino per dare un tocco shabby chic all’ambiente.
