An Island of undisputed charm, Ibiza, the white pearl of the Mediterranean, is famous for its beautiful beaches, natural landscapes, good weather and of course for the unrivaled nightlife. But this island of Balearic has been, since ancient times, the object of the desire of many cultures of the Mediterranean Sea. With an old town which belongs of UNESCO World Heritage Site, the capital, Eivissa, preserve the precious legacy by these civilizations. Originally baptized by the name of Iboshim – the city of Bes, the lesser goddess of ancient Egypt, welcomes in the upper part of the city the old town with the acropolis of Dalt Vila.
Walking through its white streets you will have the feeling of going out to an open-air museum, littered with convents, palaces and churches. Dalt Vila is surrounded by fabulous walls built in the 16th century, which represent a unique testimony of military architecture and Renaissance aesthetics.
Founded by Cartagenesis in 654a.C. Ibiza soon became one of the most important markets in the Mediterranean: the great city port, the splendid walls (not the ones that are now behind) and the ability in the Carthaginian trade made Ibiza the Port of White Gold: Salt (salinas are still in operation today). The city center was made up of houses, temples and important artisan areas, to which the port area and the cemetery were added.
Ibiza is an extraordinary magnet for generations of vacationers since the 1960s – in love with its beaches, the crystal clear sea and its explosive nightlife – despite all it does not want to carve out a position of full respect even in the interior design universe .
It was in the 1960s when California’s first hippies, from Marrakech to Morocco, went to Goa to make a stop at Ibiza and spend carefree summers.
They were soon followed by fashion designers and artists, and in a short time Ibiza created an all-around style known throughout the world.
The arrival of the best of the European jet-set created the most exotic forms of night life, which in recent times has become Europe’s most unbridled turn from this point of view.
In the 1970s the arrival of charter flights and large planes led to the birth of organized trips. After consolidating its reputation, Ibiza has begun and continues to attract hippies and wealthy yacht owners, as well as celebrities from all over the world.

Un Isola dal fascino indiscusso, Ibiza, perla bianca del Mediterraneo, è famosa soprattutto per le belle spiagge, i paesaggi naturali, il buon clima e, naturalmente, per l’impareggiabile vita notturna. Ma questa isola delle Baleari è stata, sin dall’antichità, oggetto del desiderio di numerose culture del mar Mediterraneo. Con un centro storico dichiarato Patrimonio dell’Umanità dall’UNESCO, il capoluogo, Eivissa, custodisce la preziosa eredità lasciata da queste civiltà. Originariamente battezzata con il nome di Iboshim – la città di Bes, divinità minore dell’antico Egitto accoglie nella parte alta della città il centro storico con l’acropoli di Dalt Vila. Passeggiando per le sue bianche stradine avrete la sensazione di percorrere un museo all’aperto, disseminato di conventi, palazzi e chiese. Dalt Vila è circondata da favolose mura di cinta edificate nel XVI secolo, che rappresentano una testimonianza unica dell’architettura militare e dell’estetica del Rinascimento. Fondata dai Cartagnesi nel 654a.C. Ibiza ben presto divenne anche uno dei più importanti mercati del Mediterraneo: il grande porto cittadino, le splendide mura (non quelle odierne che sono posteriori, ndr) e l’abilità nel commercio dei Cartaginesi fecero di Ibiza il Porto dell’Oro Bianco: il sale (le saline sono in funzione ancora oggi). Il nucleo cittadino era formato da case, templi ed importanti zone artigianali, cui poi si aggiunsero la zona portuale ed il cimitero.
Ibiza è una calamita straordinaria per generazioni di vacanzieri a partire dagli anni ’60 – innamorati delle sue spiagge, del mare cristallino e della sua esplosiva vita notturna – nonostante tutto non rinuncia a ritagliarsi una posizione di tutto rispetto anche nell’universo dell’interior design. Erano gli anni ‘60, quando i primi hippy della California, che da Marrakech in Marocco si recavano a Goa, presero a fare tappa a Ibiza e a trascorrervi estati spensierate. Ben presto furono seguiti da stilisti e artisti, e in poco tempo Ibiza creò uno stile tutto suo e conosciuto in tutto il mondo. L’arrivo del fior fiore del jet-set europeo fece nascere le forme più esotiche di vita notturna, che in tempi più recenti si è trasformata nella ribalta più sfrenata d’Europa da questo punto di vista. Negli anni ‘70 l’avvento dei voli charter e degli aerei di grandi dimensioni determinarono la nascita dei viaggi organizzati. Dopo aver consolidato la sua fama, Ibiza ha cominciato e continua ad attrarre hippy e facoltosi proprietari di yacht, nonchè personaggi famosi da ogni parte del mondo.
La “isla bonita” o “isla blanca” della Spagna convince e ispira i viaggiatori anche per l’eclettico mix composto dei suoi interni: ville, boutique hotel, locali, stabilimenti balneari originano una miscela di proposte da cui nasce l’ “Ibiza Style”, una fabbrica di idee per chi ama soprattutto il bianco e i materiali naturali.
La tipica casa ibizenca nonché immobile da sogno è la “Finca”. Una dimora in stile rustico, spesso di dimensioni modeste, situata in prossimità di un terreno agricolo: chi non vorrebbe alloggiare almeno una notte tra le sue mura cariche di storia, sapientemente rilette in chiave contemporanea? Dimenticate le case della campagna italiana. Il colore must di Ibiza – il bianco puro – trova la sua degna celebrazione negli interni glamour della finca. Su questa monocromia vanno ad integrarsi arredi in legno chiaro e dettagli quasi esclusivamente realizzati con materiali naturali. Il punto di forza della più pittoresca abitazione di Ibiza sono gli ambienti esterni, con gli spazi conviviali arredati in continuità con gli interni. Elementi decorativi color sabbia e finiture realizzate in raffia o corda enfatizzano la sensazione di coinvolgimento con l’ambiente naturale. Alle arelle ombreggianti in canna di bambù, così come a sottili tende in tessuto bianco che si gonfiano con le brezze marine spetta il compito di filtrare il sole nei patii delle finca. Con piacevoli effetti di luce/ombra. Non solo Finche ma case dal gusto rustico moderno. L’accostamento tra icone del design del secolo scorso e finiture dall’aspetto meno pregiato è uno dei tratti distintivi dello stile “rustico moderno” ibizenco, non così raro nell’arcipelago delle Baleari. Per chi ha un debole per le atmosfere country chic, gli interni tipici dell’isola possono rappresentare un autentico serbatoio di idee. Lo si vede nelle cucine, dove anche gli utensili si inseriscono in un gioco di rimandi visivi, all’interno di una gamma cromatica e materica impeccabile. E in bagno? La compattezza dell’arredo fisso creato in muratura, tipico delle finca, è resa quasi soave dalla texture cromatica bianco latte, dal taglio di luce proveniente dalle aperture verso l’esterno e dalla presenza degli spazi vuoti dove disporre, rigorosamente a vista, la biancheria. Legno grezzo e ceramiche bianche accompagno l’ambiente insieme alla biancheria per la casa rigorosamente in materiali naturali come il lino, cotone grezzo e merletti. La parola d’ordine è osare, ma con classe! Mixare sapientemente gli arredi naturali con la leggerezza del bianco circostante ed insieme tessuti d’arredo dai colori più sgargianti, quasi dallo stile Boho chic. Le area relax interne e private vengono alleggerite dalle pareti allestite sempre con gusto ed equilibrio. Non solo le ville ma anche le hall degli alberghi più caratteristici ad Ibiza, sono rese spettacolari da interventi sia all’interno che all’esterno con la scelta di materiali e l’inserimento dei tendaggi voluttuosi, per frazionare lo spazio solo quando serve. Ville total white, volumi puri, geometrie rigorose, il colore bianco come quasi protagonista assoluto sono i punti di forza delle ville minimaliste tipiche dell’isola, dove, immancabili, si svelano le – spettacolari – piscine private. Se il Minimalismo a volte può essere sinonimo di un eccesso di rigore, non lo è in questo caso dove gli ambienti vengono impreziositi da pareti in pietra dalle tonalità sabbia, tessuti e dettagli decorativi di gusto sorprendente.
