Il Principe di Salina è ospitato in una struttura costruita una decina di anni fa, poi rinnovata nel 2017 a seguito del passaggio a una nuova proprietà. Il progetto aveva l’obiettivo di dare al complesso una nuova anima, un stile completamente nuovo, senza la necessità di apportare modifiche strutturali e murarie.
Per questo motivo l’intervento ha riguardato principalmente l’interior restyling, affidato alle designer italiane di “The Venue Mentor.”
L’hotel ospita dodici camere, un ristorante, aree comuni, una piscina e una vasca termale con acqua sulfurea a 40 gradi proveniente direttamente da una fonte nel sottosuolo.
Il complesso si sviluppa su quattro livelli che accompagnano le pendici scoscese dell’isola. La struttura in questo modo forma un anfiteatro che si affaccia sul mare circostante e ha nel suo centro la grande piscina a sfioro con vista su Panarea e Stromboli. Da vedere!
All’esterno la scelta di un colore neutro e pulito come il bianco è motivata della volontà di lasciare il palcoscenico alle tonalità della natura lussureggiante in cui l’albergo è immerso: l’azzurro del cielo siciliano, il nero della pietra lavica, il verde dei filari di Malvasia e il blu del Mediterraneo.
All’interno, i grandi e accoglienti spazi comuni sono pensati come aree sociali dove gli ospiti possano incontrarsi e condividere esperienze, sempre con il mare sullo sfondo.
La zona living con le ampie finestre, i divani e il grande camino, l’area lounge con le sue comode sedute, la terrazza ristorante con il lungo tavolo conviviale permettono agli ospiti di sentirsi a casa in ogni momento del loro soggiorno.
Gli interni attingono alla tradizione Siciliana a alla sue radici multiculturali, con il recupero di suppellettili eoliane, il ricorso a nicchie e arredi in muratura e l’utilizzo di cuscini, tappeti, lanterne e anfore. A questi viene infine mescolata l’internazionalità degli oggetti collezionati durante i soggiorni all’estero dei proprietari, per garantire un tocco finale bohème.
Guardando queste immagini direi che non c’è bisogno di altre parole per descrivere questo posto unico e meraviglioso.

The hotel has twelve rooms, a restaurant, public areas, a swimming pool and a 40-degree sulphurous water bath directly from a source in the subsoil.
The complex is spread over four levels that accompany the steep slopes of the island. The structure thus forms an amphitheater overlooking the surrounding sea and has in its center the large infinity pool overlooking Panarea and Stromboli. To be seen!
Outside the choice of a neutral and clean color like white is motivated by the will to leave the stage in the shades of the lush nature where the hotel is immersed: the blue Sicilian sky, the black of the lava stone, the green Of Malvasia rows and the blue of the Mediterranean.
Inside, the large and cozy common spaces are thought of as social areas where guests can meet and share experiences, always with the sea in the background.
The living area with large windows, sofas and large fireplace, the lounge area with its comfortable seating, the restaurant terrace with the long convivial table allow guests to feel at home at any time of their stay.
The interiors draw on Sicilian tradition to its multicultural roots, with the recovery of Eolian furnishings, the use of niches and masonry furnishings, and the use of pillows, carpets, lanterns and amphorae. Finally, the internationality of the objects collected during the stay abroad of the owners is compounded, to ensure a lasting touch of the bohème.
Looking at these pictures I would say that there is no need for other words to describe this unique and wonderful place.
